Presented by the New York Belly Dance Festival

Take the stage in New York City at the Liberty Competitions, part of the 3rd Annual New York Belly Dance Festival.

The Liberty Competitions celebrate artistry, technique, musicality, creativity, culture, and individual expression, bringing dancers together to showcase their talent in the heart of New York City.

Competitors may enter one of four divisions based on their experience level and dance style.

PRO DIVISION

Eligibility: 5+ years of dance experience

LIBERTY PRO ORIENTAL
For experienced dancers competing in Oriental/Belly Dance and showcasing their technique, musicality, stage presence, and artistry.

LIBERTY PRO FUSION
For experienced dancers presenting Fusion work that incorporates Belly Dance movement and technique while showcasing creativity, individuality, and artistic expression.

RISING DIVISION

Eligibility: 2–5 years of dance experience

LIBERTY RISING ORIENTAL
For developing dancers ready to take the competition stage and showcase their foundation, technique, musicality, and performance skills in Oriental/Belly Dance.

LIBERTY RISING FUSION
For developing dancers presenting creative Fusion work while demonstrating a foundation in Belly Dance movement and technique.

PRIZES & AWARDS

Liberty Competition winners will receive a selection of awards, prizes, and opportunities that may include:

• Official Winner’s Trophy
• Festival passes and workshop opportunities
• Sponsored festival access
• Performance opportunities
• Sponsor gifts and prizes
• NYBDF merchandise
• Official NYBDF winner recognition

Competitors will receive complete competition information, including music requirements, performance time limits, judging criteria, check-in information, competition schedule, rules, and additional event details prior to the competition.

Competitors are responsible for registering for the division that accurately reflects their experience level. By registering, competitors confirm that they meet the eligibility requirements for their selected division.

Competition registration is for the Liberty Competitions only and does not include NYBDF workshops, festival packages, gala tickets, or other festival activities unless specifically stated.

Competition spots are limited and advance registration is required.
